If you haven’t read Barry Windsor-Smith’s 1991 Weapon X origin story, you’re a 10th-level damned fool.

The origin of Wolverine’s time in the “Weapon X” program that was washed from his memory for so long.  It’s heart-breaking and bleak in so many ways, and plays up themes of scientific experimentation and horror in a story I’ve barely had get in under my skin in all my life reading graphic novels.
