The wonderful creepiness of “We3”

I just wanted to say quickly how excited I am to finally own a proper copy of this book.  I will say this first, having a writer and an artist that gel together on what’s practically a symbiotic level is just the most amazing thing in the world.  Like what John Arcudi & Guy Davis did for B.P.R.D.  Like what Brian Bendis & Alex Maleev did for the for the madness in the gritty noir work they did for their run on Daredevil.  When the industry star Grant Morrison teams up with Frank Quitely, we get some spooky and mind-bending sci-fi work.  Evidence is found on their amazing long-term project on New X-Men from ten-ish years ago.  Or their efforts on what became the only Superman story I actually liked.

With WE3, we have a single story of a sensory-heightened, cybernetically-enhanced, trio of animals fleeing from every conceivable danger as they speak broken computer english to each other.  It’s so sad, and exhilarating at the same time.
